Katrina Essence
Music is Essential
Katrina is an International, Open Format DJ and music producer, based in Los Angeles.
She was born in Lithuania and grew up in Moscow, Russia. She traveled the world as a professional dancer and twice won title of the World Champion in style called “Krump”.
In 2016 she moved to Los Angeles, where graduated from “Scratch DJ Academy” created by legendary Jam Master Jay.
Throughout her DJ career, she held residencies at the most sophisticated rooftops in California like “Spire 73”, “Perch”, “JG”, “Hive & Honey”, “Offshore 9″, “Parkestry″ performed in many Nightclubs, Lounges and Bars around the country in cities like LA, Las Vegas, New York and Miami. Katrina is known for her impeccable music taste and curated tunes for many restaurants like "Mrs Fish", "LouLou", "Heritage" , "Castaway" casinos such as "Yaamava", "Pechanga" hotels and resorts like "Maybourne", "Fairmont Grand Del Mar", "Marriott Spectrum". Katrina provided sound for many Fashion events for clients such as Macy's and Nordstrom as well as Art shows and Artists like "WhIsBe", Joelle Blouin. She worked with many celebrity clients, brands and sports, performed at US Open.
Katrina curated a lot of special events, bridging together music, art, fashion and local community. She is a Host of "Spotlight" music vlog and passionate content creator.
Exposure to different cultures allowed her to have unique taste for various music genres and ability to deliver to divorce crowds. Coming from dancing background makes movement her second nature. Her Joy and Love for music directly represented in her DJ Performance and her Energy is very contagious.

The human experience involves a perpetual transitioning between darkness and light, subtle but powerful, like the flapping of wings. The visuals artfully represent how we move through this continuum, at times writhing and twisting in painful transformation, preparing to break free from our cocoons. What binds us also has the ability to set us free. So that when we emerge as an ethereal version of ourselves, we can better appreciate our joy BECAUSE of our pain, and better express gratitude for the light BECAUSE of the dark. Our lives hold both the memories of heartbreak and the dreams of perfection, which together form the sacred identity. Embracing the contrast is the secret to a full and unapologetic life, for which “Butterfly Effect” is the ideal soundscape. This music video is symbolic of how the artist’s raw vulnerability is used to power a deeply personal transformation, which is then channeled into her craft. While a woman is individually powerful, she is also empowered by other women who share her vision and lift her up. The “Butterfly Effect“ production would not have been possible without the talent and support of Stefaniya Vey who dares to be a rare flower, as one of the few female directors in the industry.
